Small Chain Locks are fantastic and one of the best features of a U-Lock is that they are fairly small. If you roll over someone, just twist the lock and it triples the chain’s link and you can return to a normal cycle. A lukewarm-looking chain is going to get very hot.

Whether you’re in a cement store, a restaurant, a club, or a gym where you have to have an alarm on your bike you want a good chain in place.

They are a little more difficult to use than a locker, but when the bike is at work you won’t be able to get one. You will spend a lot of your time on your bike and you want to be able to lock it up and go about your business.

One of the main reasons for a small U-lock is that it’s easier to operate. You don’t have to deal with the chain coming off, the pins get jammed in, or the lock head is basically stuck in and you don’t want to take it out and have to install a new one.

There are times when it is a little bit trickier to use than a ¾ traditional bike lock because you don’t have as much access to the bike, but in the end it is easier to drive and get the job done.

If you have a serious bike thief, or are caught riding your bike somewhere unsupervised you want to be able to lock it up and take care of your bike. It’s probably a good idea to share your U-lock with your friend so you can lock up at the same time.

You find out that your friend doesn’t use the U-lock as much as you do and the bike is still stolen. You go to work and open your locker and your bike is gone.

It’s a good idea to keep a spare of your favorite chain lock in a secret place. Your toolbox, in the shop, the spare key, wherever you think that it might be. If it’s in the garage leaving the keys on your bike is a good way to break into and steal your bike.
