Schwalbe Marathon Gt 365 Review:
Thus, the Schwalbe Marathon Gt 365 is the first tyre you will ride safely throughout the year in almost every condition. This all-rounder offers full grip, no matter what the time of year or the weather. The Four-Season compound and the lamella tread ensure top performance in all conditions. Naturally, the Gt 365 is fitted with Schwalbe’s DualGuard puncture protection technology.
The Schwalbe Marathon GT 365 Road Tyre – DualGuard is supplied in a Schwalbe plastic box supplied in a plastic box with a pair of tyre levers, a mini-pump, and a reversible socket for the inflator. There is also a package of rim strips and tyre pressure gauge.
The GT 365, especially the rear tyre is extremely bright in daylight, whilst in the dark the rear tyre is extremely reflective too, and the dual compound rubber (silicon and natural rubber) grips very well. The rear tyre on the rear wheel seems to be rather narrow at 19mm which initially makes you think it might not “pull in” to the rim quickly, but it seems to do so with no problem. This tyre is 70% silicon rubber and 30% natural rubber compount which gives it its grip and durability. The tyre weighs 690g and the size is mtb, which is 27.5″, 27.5″, 2.4″ and it is rated as “A” which is the official French tyre rating system for pressures, which is much more lenient than the official US/UK measure. I’ve ridden it as hard as we can in the UK and I don’t think you will wear it out before you put a hole in the tyre.
The tyre is puncture proof, which is very impressive. The tire was used on rides of over 100 miles with no punctures. It is really surprising because I have never had such good puncture protection before. The tire pressures you should inflate them with are as follows:
Rim Pressure: 0.9 bar – 2.3 bar / 14.8 psi – 36 psi
100 miles in pouring rain and there wasn’t a single puncture. The rear tyre was the most amazing with no punctures. There is no doubt in my mind that this tyre is the best puncture proof tyre I have ever used – even better than the old Schwalbe Marathon which has a different compound to this one.
If you get a puncture, you can re-inflate the tyre with a portable compressor, just two or three puffs to re-inflate the tyre. It can be inflated up to 120 psi. However, I leave it at the recommended maximum of 100 psi with the occasional boost to 120 psi on long climbs.

Pros:
High Puncture Resistance:
- High puncture resistance When inflated to recommended pressure and fold 28mm wide, excellent cornering, very comfortable ride
- When inflated to recommended pressure and fold 28mm wide, excellent cornering, very comfortable ride Lamella tread provides good traction on most surfaces
- Lamella tread provides good traction on most surfaces Reflective sides stay visible in night time
Cons:
- Very slippery when wet. The rear tyre is rather narrower than most other tyres (a characteristic of Schwalbe tyres)
- The rear tyre is rather narrower than most other tyres (a characteristic of Schwalbe tyres) Rotating weight: in a sample pair for 28mm wide tyres, rotating weight (combined weight with rim) was 1107 grams, which was heavy when compared to other 28mm wide tyres (for example: Continental Touring 28mm – 818g/853g, Kenda K-50 Ardent – 860g/853g, Vittoria Ultra Gator Hardshell 28mm – 896g/921g)

This could be a problem for riders who like to run above operating pressure.
Schwalbe Marathon Gt 365 Review:
The Schwalbe Marathon GT 365 is the best tyre that I have used for puncture protection. I never suffered a puncture whilst using that tyre, even when I used it in France, which is notorious for road side hazards. The tyre is very puncture proof, and will easily last you a season. Design-wise, the tyre is very attractive with the reflective strips.
In summary, the Schwalbe Marathon GT 365, especially the rear tyre is extremely bright in daylight, whilst in the dark the rear tyre is extremely reflective too, and the dual compound rubber (silicon and natural rubber) grips very well. The rear tyre on the rear wheel seems to be rather narrow at 19mm which initially makes you think it might not “pull in” to the rim quickly, but it seems to do so with no problem. It is also extremely puncture proof. In addition, the rolling resistance and comfort are similar to the Hutchinson Fusion 3 Pro 700X28. Overall, the tyre is easy to mount, and stays inflated for the whole ride. Based upon my experience, I highly recommend this tyre. PS: This SWAFFLE Marathon GT 365 was also a test winner of What Mountain Bike magazine!
Schwalbe Marathon Gt 365 Review:
The tyres have a sophisticated design, with bands of silica rubber knitted from one side to the other, giving it good puncture protection. The sidewalls are also very thick, providing even more protection. This gives the tyre a very smooth ride. The first is the black stripe in the middle that is reflective and bright when lit up, and the second is a reflective line on the side as shown in the pictures. At night, this makes the tyre look extremely shiny and bright. When in good light, bright yellow writing “DualGuard” is printed on the side. In the dark, all this writing is reflective and can be seen well from the light of a bike light. The tyre is also available in 27mm wide, and is certainly a great tyre, but I recommend the wider one as I feel that the extra couple of millimetres makes a huge difference when cornering.
The Schwalbe Marathon GT 365 Road Tyre – DualGuard is a great all round tyres for the year round rider.
