Selle Italia Slc Flow Saddle Review:

First Impressions: The SLC is designed for longer inseample where comfort is key, most evident when looking at the distinctive eye catching cut out above the vecotr hole. In design it appears to be a mix of the SL and ST models with all the comfort features of the SL but with a narrower cut out to reduce the sagging problem sited with the SL. It is instantly quite enticing to the eye and sat on the saddle is instantly comfy and has some great features for longer rides.

Uses: Is this a long distance saddle for leisure use or more for racing?

Commuting – I felt the cut out was maybe to high for normal riding with normal clothing, wearing bib tights the front pinches in slightly, to the point where after a bit of time I need to move. I feel for longer leisurely rides this may not be a problem.

Badge of honor: You know you’ve had a long ride when the SLC is hidden in your shorts.

Selle Saddle Performance:

Ride Quality 5/5

Recommended for friends?: I’d definitely recommend it to friends, its fantastic on the longer rides, I also found it great for daily 50 mile commutes to university, you know, those ones were you know you were more in the saddle for an hour or so than you were riding. With the cutout and the well padded covering I felt fully in control, comfy and feeling fresh for the journey back home.

Main Bad Points:

I found the cutout a bit high for general use, get the bib tights on and it could become a bit of a pinch between the legs. However, this may not be a problem in normal clothing. Maybe a bigger problem up here between the legs than below.

Product Rating: 9/10

In all the SLC is a great saddle for longer (especially college) rides or those where comfort is key. Its comfy, easy to control and is refreshing to get on after a long time in the saddle. This saddle looks good and handles well, its easy to get on with and easy to fit to your bike. Ultimately this is a great choice for the longer distance rides and an excellent and comfortable addition to your biking kit.
