Michelin Dynamic Sport Bike Tyre Review:

With 3 different sizes, the Dynamic Sport is designed to cater to a range of people, whether they’re high performance cyclists, recreational riders, or those looking for a budget-friendly tyre for training and commuting.

It performs well on a variety of road terrains, including tarmac and gravel, and remains reliable over long distances.

The Dynamic Sport comes with a reflective sidewall, ideal for night time cycling, and a red bead which makes it easy to see in low light conditions.

I’m a long term user of Michelin tyres – they also produce the GRAN TOUR X-COMMUNIC on test. This model has replaced the x-COMMUNIC, so I thought it was the right time to submit a review.

In short – I love these tyres!

Pros:

  • Tough and reliable.
  • For road bike tyres, you don’t want to have to replace your tyres every season or two. The downside with other brands is that their cheaper tyres won’t let you get what you’re paying for. The Michelin design is tough and offers good value for money.
  • Easy to fit.
  • For me, tyres are one of the key parts of the bike, and when you can easily get them on and off then it means you can service and replace when it’s needed.
  • With the Michelin tyre they’re really easy to fit – unlike most other brands.
  • Good, reliable grip.
  • The tread is designed to grip on all surfaces. It’s more likely that you’ll lose grip if you’re doing something silly like cornering too fast, but performed well under testing on variety of terrains.
  • Longer lasting.

I like to think I’ve got more to offer my bike than most, but that doesn’t stop me smashing them around a bit. Every day I ride at least 30k, and very often further. My bike can be out in all weathers, but that doesn’t affect the tyre. My expectations of longevity are well exceeded with my average 6 months per tyre – much better than any other tyre I’ve used.

Combinations:

The tyres come in 3 widths – 28, 25 and 23 mm.

The 28 mm are longer lasting – the 25 is more about being relatively lightweight.

The 23 mm can be a good intermediate for those who want to try something different to their 23 mm standard, but they do tend to wear more quickly.

Of course not all 23 mm tyres are the same, so for those who want a more reliable alternative, the Michelin Dynamic Sport 23 mm is an excellent choice.

Cons:

  • None.

The only downside to this tyre is that you have to put it on your bike.

In summary:

The Michelin Dynamic Sport is aimed at those who want to have a more durable tyre designed for mileage, but it still remains a good option for training or just riding for fun.

It’s also suitable for road bikes, so you can use it for your training, commuting or even just as your winter tyre.

And because the tyres come in three different widths, you can decide whether they’re suitable for your current bike, or whether you want to try something new.
