Lynskey R265 Review:
When the R265 arrived I immediately unwrapped it from its packaging to inspect more closely. It was the beautiful classic Lynskey finish you would expect — the kind made you want to stroke it lovingly like a baby’s skin.

This made me even more excited for this bike test!
All that was left was to get out and ride it. I chose Sunday morning as the perfect opportunity and in my mind had the perfect plan of attack for the day. The Lynskey R265 comfortably rode the hills and flats with ease.
This was going to be a down and back ride along the river with a few steep climbs — the kind of ride that I often do. I could not wait to give this Lynskey R265 a run-through. My first impression was that it was perfect!
I mean, a perfectly straight frame and almost as light as my Lynskey Cape Wrath, which is a high quality titanium bike. I also loved the beautiful stem crown and the race geometry that looked as if it were made for a top-class track rider.
It was overall more comfortable and agile than my Lynskey Cape Wrath. With its relaxed geometry I found it was perfect for longer hacks along the river. The Lynskey R265 is perfect for long rides.
I would estimate its weight at around 3.5kg. It felt great to ride with plenty of comfort to keep me riding for a long time — obviously up the climbs and the downhills, but I also through a true test.
I took it on a fairly long and reasonably steep climb and I was able to pick out details at the top — I was not cramping my breathing or feeling any strain on my thighs. At this point I knew I was going to enjoy this ride! The Lynskey R265 was great both on and off-road.
My route back saw a lot of off-road trails and paths which, surprisingly enough, I found the Lynskey R265 not only fun to ride but also more so stable than I had expected. Its titanium frame and carbon fibre fork gave it a solid feel.
I had my road bike proper shoes on and was clad in lycra and still was able to ride and handle this light road bike.

In particular, the Lynskey R265 looks magnificent in its retro black with cream details it’s a timeless look.
If you are looking for a good long distance or sportive type road bike that is also good enough for a bit of off-road, you might like to think about a bike like the Lynskey R265.

After riding the Lynskey R265 on the trails and through the streets, I now want a Lynskey Cape Wrath.

It is as fine as any road frame I’ve seen. I’m impressed by the high quality welds to say nothing of the beautiful finish through to the way many of the details point to handcrafting as opposed to CNC machining.”
