Crank Brothers 5050 2 Pedals Review:
The 5050 2, by the Crank Brothers is up there with the greatest of the currently available racing pedal platforms. This is a latest update in a long and respected line of products that began in 1978. All of these four platforms are well known for their versions of dual-sided power meter and aero pedal designs. These are instant additions to an already packed pedalboard. Since we got to see this new first-generation prototype, we are finally on the third generation and it is a well-known platform in the top-level end of the pricing range.

Crank Brothers 5050 2 Rating: The brand presents a modern iteration of an established product, the 5050. They were a new brand when they formed the partnership with the Crank Brothers in 2018 and this has resulted in a completely new board.
The 5050 is not like any other pedal, it was supposed to be the rider’s fifth racing platform. It combines two dissimilar power meters. They are now allowing riders to choose between a dual-sided platform with or without aero sensitivity.
The 5050 is made up of two pieces; the cranksets, the outer mount is aluminium, it’s called “quicker change” and the inner mount is composite, as it is dynamic braking system, one of the biggest benefits of the 5050 is its resilience to cracks, grooves, damage and fractures. This helps it endure true grit after more than 50 years of use.
The 5050 uses one large metal ball bearing in the lower position and two small balls in the upper position. The balls go perpendicular to the pivot arms to ensure maximal grip when a rider is riding out of the reach of the pedals. It was formed the same way as the other 4950 models, but the insides of the 5050 models were upgraded with internal hardware to ensure maximum durability and reliability. With the same combination of top and bottom pads, the 5050 can reach a maximum resistance of 150A.
The Crank Brothers 5050 2 pedals have the same features and compatibility as the other pedals, but this is a more modern version. It looks good on the bike and is an excellent idea if you are a freerider who hails from the east coast or the south of England, but also feels great when new as well. It is a silent power supplier up to the 50kW level, it improves the overall power curve and helps the rider feel safe and comfortable on the bike.
The pedal’s design has large angled pads for clearance on the bottom when you are riding at a fast speed. They have jutting lower pads spike that boost your foot contact and ensures that your feet are always on the pedal when you are riding at high speeds, and they are also designed with the size of the user in mind. Riders of big feet do not have to worry about riding on the pedals and confusing themselves every ride.
The 5050 2 is a good performer but also has flaw. It has two exposure points for pedals and because the pads are angled toward the pedal, when you are riding fast speed, they are not exactly accurate. One point is constant enough to deal with, but if you want a perfectly flat pedal, such as a dual-sided platform, you can’t settle for a mediocre one.
