Product Review: Campagnolo Veloce Black 10 Speed Double Groupset

The meticulous attention to detail and requisite Campagnolo performance trickles down from the top end of the drivetrain range and is incorporated in every step of the design and construction of the Veloce groupset.

Fine Italian craftsmanship and expertise in construction methods make this an entry level group only for Campagnolo. Veloce means ‘fast’ in Italian and every component, from the power-shift ergopower commands to the super precise rear derailleur, are made for speed. So well built is this groupset that the speed and precision of Veloce will accompany you through as many granfondos, weekend rides and training sessions as your legs can handle.

Campagnolo Veloce Groupset Review:

Fast Adjusters : The four ramps of the ergopower controls are angled for easy operation. The adjusters are also light and bar-end mounted for convenient one-handed operation. There is also an adjustable brake lever for even higher control and convenience.

Campagnolo Veloce 10 speed shifters are a pleasure to use. They’re easy to adjust for even the smallest gear change. I don’t know how they do it but Campagnolo just knows.

The first Campagnolo groupset I ever rode was a Veloce, so I say it with a little prejudice. The Veloce groupset might not be the world’s fastest groupset but it’s not too shabby either. Campagnolo makes a lot of top level groupsets but Veloce is the entry level groupset. Don’t take the entry level title as an understatement. Every component of Campagnolo Veloce has been built to be a pleasure to use and engineered with the most up-to-date production technology available. The Campagnolo Veloce groupset is a quality, high performance component at a price that can’t be beat. If you are in the market for a new groupset for your bike, this is the one to get.Campagnolo has a long history of creating high quality and precision groupsets for all kind of exotic bikes. The highest end groupsets that were used by professionals and also by consumers for training and everyday fun riding. Campagnolo knows what it takes to make a super expensive groupset that will last for years and I’m sure we will see Veloce being used by enthusiasts for years to come. The Campagnolo Veloce or ‘low-end’ (but trust me, it’s not low-end, if you think that Veloce is low-end then you must be even more low-end), groupset is meant for the average rider who would want the quality at an affordable price. Campagnolo has really made the Veloce groupset an outstanding groupset at an affordable price. That being said, the Veloce is essentially a super light super hi tech groupset and a great upgrade from the entry level groupsets in the market. And you certainly will be amazed with that Campagnolo quality. That is probably why the Veloce groupset is getting rave reviews around the world.I just happened to discover Campagnolo Veloce earlier this year and I simply love it.

I have not tried Campagnolo Record or Record 10 so I won’t be able to tell you the difference between Veloce and higher level groupsets in the mid-range. At least the Veloce brings the Campagnolo experience to the entry level and really brings along the sense of quality that you would only expect from an expensive hi-end groupset.I won’t be able to accurately compare the Veloce to Shimano 105 but I am sure that Campagnolo Veloce beats Shimano 105 in all the categories that really matter: price, style, quality and performance. Heck, I even think it beats Campagnolo Record 10 and Record 10.

I have this feeling that Campagnolo is making Veloce their entry level groupset and they are keeping their higher end groupsets for themselves and for pro riders. I am not complaining because I can’t afford them. But at least now I know that even myself with my limited budget can build a high performance ride.I have been riding the Campagnolo Veloce groupset for almost 1 year now and it has proven itself.
